Notice and filing
- Notification: Yes, annual
- What to file: Written notification (pisna obvestitev)
- When: at least 3 months before school year start (by end of May for September start)
- Where: Enrolled basic school
- How to submit: in writing
- What to include
- Publicly established curriculum, child's name and surname, place of schooling, name and surname of teacher(s)
Subjects and hours
- Instruction: Must follow publicly established curriculum equivalent to school program; conducted at specified location by named person(s)
Records to keep
- Records: School maintains documentation on pupil's home education
Testing and assessment
- Testing: Annual end-of-year examinations in all subjects at enrolled school
- Assessment: Knowledge assessed against school standards; must achieve equivalent level
Deadlines
- Home education notification: at least 3 months before 1 September (typically by 31 May)
- Annual knowledge assessments: end of each school year (June)
