Questions families ask
What is the Waldorf Map?+
A free directory of Waldorf and Steiner schools, kindergartens, parent-and-child groups, Waldorf-inspired homeschool co-ops and Anthroposophical Society study groups in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Each place was checked against its own website.
Why are some places called Waldorf schools and others Waldorf-inspired?+
Waldorf is a protected name. A place is called a Waldorf (or Steiner) school here only when its national association lists it as a member. Everything else describes its approach as Waldorf-inspired. Many of those are long-established and some are on their way to membership, so it is always worth visiting.
Is it free to be listed?+
Yes. Schools, kindergartens and co-ops can claim their page and correct or add to it for free, and nobody pays to be listed or placed higher.
Claim or add a placeHow we label places
A place is called a Waldorf school or kindergarten here only when its national association lists it as a member. We check those lists ourselves and date the check.
Everything else is marked Waldorf-inspired. Many are lovely, and some are on their way to membership, so it is worth asking them.
If there is a school near you, go and see it
Most schools and kindergartens hold open mornings, and many run parent-and-child groups for the youngest. A visit tells you more than any page can. If there is no school within reach, or it is not the right fit, you can still bring the same rhythm, stories and handwork into your home.
